The pioneering explorers of modern electronic music are back after a lengthy but worthwhile wait. "Toxygene" began its life as an Orb remix of Jean Michel-Jarre's "Oxygene" that was angrily rejected because it used absolutely nothing of the original track. This new single and the album to follow in February prove that the Orb still transcend the pack of software manipulators by creating original sounds and atmospherics, distinctive rhythm patterns and inventive melodic arrangements.

Now a leaner, meaner twosome with more badass beats and in yer face live shows, Dr. L.X. Paterson unveils the best yet Orb at the NME Brats night on January 22 (An all-Appearing show with Propellerheads t.b.c and Lionrock) at the LA2 Killa remixes of "Toxygene" included by Way Out West, Kris Needs, Fila Brazillia and more.
