  Born: 10 January 1978 in London, England, UK.
  
  Soweto is a British born & raised saxophone player with a strong jazz background. He is largely self-trained too, though he had help and drew inspiration from the influential player/band leader Courtney Pine, also as a young 13 year old teenager a chance meeting with Wynton Marsalis gave focus to the young musical mind.
  
  Luckily for listeners, he also loves and understands hip-hop enough to be a proficient rapper too.
  Mix the two together and we have one hell of a performer here.
  
  His jazz album "Conversations With The Unseen" (2003) received such critical acclaim, it was even nominated for the British artists prestigious [url=http://www.discogs.com/lists/Mercury-Music-Prize-shortlist-2003/24360]Mercury Music Prize] in 2003. And he also featured on BBC Four TV as part of the "Jazz Britannia" series doing an excellent track "Jazz Planet".
